The Westerners had a successful opener to the 2017 indoor track season at the University of Oklahoma. WTC claimed four event wins and twelve national qualifying performances.
Event winners were freshman Abigail Kwarteng in the high jump, freshman Deborah Acquah in the triple jump, freshman Kimisha Chambers in the 400.
National qualifiers were:
- Deborah Acquah, triple jump-11.91 meters, # 1 in the NJCAA
- Abigail Kwarteng, high jump-1.61 meters, # 5 in the NJCAA
- Shanice Williams, 60 meters-7.64, #5 in the NJCAA
- Shivnarine Smalling, 60 meters-6.87, #10
In the NJCAA:
- Kimisha Chambers, 400 meters-58.59, #3 in the NJCAA
- Cameka Witter, 400 meters-58.96, #4 in the NJCAA
- Segale Brown, 400 meters-59.01, #5 in the NJCAA
- Britaney Duncan, 60m hurdles-9.02, #8 in the NJCAA
- Women's 4x400 (Segale Brown, Cameka Witter, Britaney Duncan, Kimisha Chambers) 3:53.96, #1 in the NJCAA
