Brenham, TX – Two second-half goals weren't enough for the Lady Westerners, who fell 3-2 to Blinn College on Thursday.
Lesly Campos and Kaitlyn Lucy Crouch scored in the second half, giving the Lady Westerners a 2-1 lead in the 69th minute. Both goals marked their second of the season. Blinn responded late, tying the match in the 79th minute and netting the game-winner in the 87th.
Goalkeeper Karmen Coronado, making her fifth start of the season, recorded a season-high 10 saves. Despite the loss, the Lady Westerners scored more goals than the Buccaneers typically allow per match (0.71). The Lady Westerners scored twice in the second half, against a Buccaneer defense that had only allowed four second-half goals all season before this match.
The Lady Westerners have now scored 18 goals this season as a team. The last time WTC reached that mark was during the 2022 campaign.
This contest marked the final non-conference game of the 2025 season. With the loss, the Lady Westerners moved to 2-5-3 overall. They now turn to conference play, beginning with a road trip to Cisco College on Friday, October 3. Kickoff is set for noon
