
Snyder, TX - Women's basketball has been selected as the NJCAA Academic team of the year for the 2023-24 season.
Head Coach Rachael Eubank is thrilled to see the success of her team on and off the court. The 2023-24 Westerners were awarded NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for Division III of Region V. Alyssa Hutterer led the charger as she landed on the All-Academic First Team. To earn this achievement, Hutterer finished the school year with a 4.00 GPA. After her time at Western Texas, she transferred to Midwestern State University to continue her academic and athletics career.
Both Brianna Montoya and Deborha Oladina were selected for third team All-Academic honors. The two had to earn a 3.60-3.79 GPA for the year to be named to the list. Montoya will be at the University of Southwest this fall while Oladina is continuing at Mission University. The NJCAA honored 12,245 student-athletes who earned above a 3.60 GPA in the last academic year. Western Texas College, Western Texas Athletics and the Women's basketball program prides itself on the success these student-athletes convey on the court but most importantly in the classroom.
