This afternoon 9/1/2017 the Westerners Cross Country team competed at the McMurry University Bill Libby Invitational. The meet host was McMurry University – Abilene, Texas.
The women raced first and really set the tone for the season. Jackline Kwambai led the team placing 3rd overall. With only one returning sophomore the women competed very well and placed two ladies in the top 8 of the race.

Jesse Ortiz led the men's team to a 3rd place finish, while placing 5th overall himself. The men were able to place 3 Westerners in the top 11 overall. They did a great job of running together as a team. There were very few times where there were not at least two guys running with each other.
