Men’s NJCAA Indoor National Championship Recap

Men's Track Team

The Men's track and field team finished 9th place overall at this past weekend's NJCAA Indoor National Championship meet hosted by Pittsburg State University. The main highlight of the meet was that of Sean Bailey who won his first national title in the 400 meter dash and his time of 45.59 was a NJCAA championships meet record, facility record, and school record. The team also had two second place finishers Travis Riley (Long Jump) and Orwin Emilien (600m). The team also had three other athletes place in the top eight they were Sean Washington 4th (800m) and Shivnarine Smalling 8th (60m). Other notable finishers Chris Walker 11th (Triple Jump), Shivnarine Smalling 13th (200m), Melvin Johnson 14th (200m) and 16th (60m), Louis Davis 17th (200m) and 20th (60m), and Robin Black 14th(600m). The team also had four school records broken during the meet they are listed below. Next meet will be the Wes Kittley Invitational on March 24th and 25th hosted by ACU.
