Snyder, TX – Teamwork set the tone on Sophomore Day as the Westerners closed out the conference season with a 3–0 win over Ranger College on Tuesday afternoon. Before kickoff, the program recognized its sophomores (list below).
Myles Taylor delivered a historic performance, recording a hat trick — the first by a Westerner since September 14, 2018, a span of 2,588 days. The three goals also marked his season high.Assists came from Oumar Berete, Pablo Lobon, and Fraser Sutherland.
With the victory, Western Texas advances to the NJCAA Region 5 Championship, which will be hosted in Snyder. The Westerners will face top-seeded Hill College, a team they defeated 2–1 at home on October 10. This appearance marks the program's 15th consecutive trip to the regional championship.
The next matchup will be on Friday, October 17, against #2 Tyler Junior College at Pat Hartley Field in Tyler, TX, with kickoff scheduled for 12:00 PM CDT.
