Snyder, TX - Western Texas Westerners ready to begin the men's soccer 2024 season.
Head Coach Juan Carlos Michel is entering his third year at the helm for the Westerners and coming off of his most successful season yet. In the 2023 season, Western Texas men's soccer finished the year with a 8-2-3 record. For the third consecutive season, the Westerners held a 3-1 conference record and back to back eight win campaigns. The program has been conference champions every year since the 2020 season. Head Coach Carlos Michel has been Coach of the Year for two seasons straight in the NJCAA Region V.
Western Texas will see two sophomore goalkeepers in the net with Heinz Cederborg and Miguel Campos. The Westerners will also have an international freshman from Germany in the net as Florian Quast joins the squad. Head Coach Carlos Michel has a solid foundation returning at the forward and midfield positions.
Ruben Roy Ekue Kuevi and Christian Roosevelt Agyekum will be coming back at the front of the line. Roy Ekue Kuevi started 11 games, scored four goals and recorded 8 points. Roosevelt Agyekum only started six games in 2023, but in that time scored four goals, an assist and earned nine points. Søren Ebdrup Krog is returning behind the two forwards as he will be in the midfield for his sophomore season.
