Men's Soccer Heads to 2021 NJCAA Division 1 National Tournament

The Western Texas College Men’s Soccer team is heading to Wichita, Kansas, to compete in the NJCAA National Tournament June 5-10, 2021 at the Stryker Complex. The Westerners are entering the tournament with a record of 8-0-1 and a #11 ranking in the nation.

The Road to Nationals

Westerners completed a perfect WJCAC conference season 5-0 and defeated Hill College 2-1 to win the 2020-2021 WJCAC Region V Championship.

From there, they traveled North to Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to compete for the NJCAA Mid-South District Championship and secure their spot in the NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Soccer National Tournament. The Westerners picked up a 4-1 victory in regulation and found themselves 2 weeks out from competing for a national championship. 

Heading into the D1 National Tournament, the Westerners earned a number 4 seed and will begin pool play on Saturday, June 5, 2021,  in Kansas. Game 1 is set for kick-off at 7:00 p.m. CT against #9 Snow College (10-2-1). Game 2 will be played on Monday, June 7 with kick-off at 7:00 p.m. CT against #5 Harcum College (11-0). The winner of Pool D will advance to the National Semifinals to be played on Wednesday, June 9.
