Western Texas College men and women track teams have concluded their indoor season by competing in the 2021 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held March 5-6 at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Day 1 Highlights:
- Maricia Spence placed 4th in the Pentathlon and earned All-American honors
- The distance medley team of Shadae Findley, Niesha Burgher, Latifah Pinnock, and Gloria Aguilera placed 8th
- Jovanna Gustave ran a personal best in the 60
- Chelsey Agyemang ran a personal best in the 60
- Shadae Findley advanced to Day 2 final in the 800
- Daylin Williams advanced to Day 2 final in the 60 hurdles
- Jauavney James advanced to Day 2 final in the 600
Day 2 Highlights:
- Shadae Findley finished 3rd in the 800, earning All-American honors
- Gloria Aguilera finished 11th in the 1 mile
- Daylin Williams finished 8th in the 60 hurdles, earning All-American honors
- Jauavney James finished 6th in the 600, earning All-American honors
Overall, four Westerners earned All-American honors. The women’s team finished in 13th as a team while the men finished in 22nd. WTC Track will now begin their outdoor season on Saturday, March 20, at the Wes Kittley Invitational in Abilene, Texas.
