NJCAA Region V has announced the Division 1 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 4-10.

Western Texas College defender Rikki Newland is the Division I player of the Week for Region V. Newland, a sophomore from Bloomfield, NM, was instrumental in a 1-0 shutout of Eastfield College. She also scored both goals in a win against Allen County Community College.
