Darryl Davis enters his 10th season as the head women’s basketball coach and his 15th year overall at Western Texas College.

Davis previously coached in the high school ranks as an assistant head coach with his wife, now the WTC Athletic Director, Tammy Davis. At Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, New Mexico, he helped guide the 2003 Lady Bobcats to the semi-final round at the New Mexico State Tournament. In 2004, Davis served as the assistant head coach at Farmington High School in Farmington, New Mexico where he helped guide the Lady Scorpions to a second-place finish at the New Mexico State Basketball Tournament. Davis has coached many players who competed at the college level.

Davis played for New Mexico Junior College prior to attending Lubbock Christian University where he finished his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 1990.  In high school, Davis played for the legendary Ralph Tasker at Hobbs High School in Hobbs, New Mexico.

After completion of his degree at Lubbock Christian University, he was a volunteer assistant coach for Northern Arizona University with his responsibilities including perimeter player development, scouting, and recruiting. Coach Davis began his career with the National Junior College Scouting Service (women’s basketball) where he scouted and reported for the scouting services.

He and his wife, Tammy, reside in Snyder with their family, Kamiah, Malik, Brooklynn, and one grandchild Johnathan.
