The Westerners Cross Country teams traveled to Levelland, Texas this weekend to compete in the South Plains Cross Country Invite. Our Regional meet will be held on the same course in three weekends. It was great being able to run the course a few weeks before it really counts. It showed us where we are at, what we need to work on, and where we need to become October 28th.
Jackline Kwambai led the women's team this weekend with a 20th place finish overall. Nicole Penick came in second for the ladies in 29th place. Mikaylee Gwin closed up the race for the ladies coming in 52nd place out of 75 athletes.

The men's team was led by Andrew Rueda this weekend who missed placing in the top 10 by eight seconds. Today we tried a new strategy to get the team ready for Regionals. It showed us what we need to work on to be ready in a few weeks.
