Kimisha Chambers proved that she's the best 400 hurdler in the NJCAA by claiming the national championship title in the women's 400 meter hurdles at this weekend's NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field championships in Hutchinson, KS with a time of 60.93. Kimisha went on to place fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.94, leading the lady westerners to a 10th place finish as a team.
Other highlights for WTC were All-American honors being earned by:
- Shanice Williams - 8th, 100 meters
- Abigail Kwarteng - tied for 3rd, high jump
- Deborah Acquah - 2nd, triple jump
WTC Men finished tied for 9th place as a team, highlighted by All- American performances by:
- Robin Black - 3rd, 4
- Melvin Johnson - 5th, 100 meters
- Sean Bailey - 3rd, 400 meters
- Orwin Emilien - 4th, 400 meters
- Sean Washington - 8th, 800 meters Travis Riley - 3rd, long jump
- 4 by 100 relay - 5th, Melvin Johnson, Shivnarine Smalling, Robin Black, Louis Davis
- 4 by 400 relay - 8th, Robin Black, Sean Bailey, Sean Washington, Shivnarine Smalling
Robin Black makes the pass to Louis Davis, enroute to setting a school record of 39.6.
The 1st and second legs were run by Melvin Johnson and Shivnarine Smalling.
