Track Results From Pittsburgh State Invitational

Pittsburg, KS - January 28 --

The WTC Track teams produced a total of 12 NJCAA top 10 performances, 7 by the women's team and 5 by the men's team at the Pittsburgh State Invitational on Saturday.

Leading the way for the women's team was Cameka Witter, winner of the 600 yards race with the NJCAA's leading time of 1:22.59, which also set a new meet and school record. Cameka would later anchor the 4x400 relay team to a second place finish behind  Northwestern Louisiana, with a time of 3:47.47 which ranks 2nd in the NJCAA.

Other top 10 performances were made by Deborah Acquah in both the long jump (18'3.75", seventh in the NJCAA and 39'8" in the triple jump, fifth in the NJCAA). Shanice Williams in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.50 for a fifth place NJCAA ranking. Britaney Duncan recorded the ninth best time in the NJCAA, running a time of 8.82 in the 60 meter hurdles. Anytcy Marin competed in the 5000 meters and completed the race in 19:23.57, earning her spot in the NJCAA's top 10 (10th).

Travis Riley won the men's long jump with a meet record jump of 25'2.75" which is the number one jump in the NJCAA. Sean Bailey finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 46.76, giving him the second best time in the NJCAA. Completing the team's assault on the NJCAA rankings were Shivnarine Smalling running 6.74 in the 60 meter dash for the third ranked time in the NJCAA and Louis Davis running 6.78 for the 6th best time in the NJCAA.
