3rd – 6th Graders: 9 a.m. to Noon
7th – 10th Graders: 1 to 4 p.m.

 

You already love playing basketball. How about three days of great instruction focused on fun and skill improvement?

Work on your shooting technique, ball-handling skills, and team-play tactics at Western Texas College with Head Men's Basketball Coach Andre Owens this summer!

Coach O's Basketball Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, gain fundamental basketball basics, and enhance their skill sets. Owens teaches all aspects of basketball in a productive, learning atmosphere.

Before coaching for WTC, Coach Owens played professionally and at the Division I level.

Owens is a native of Irving, Texas. He graduated from Irving High School in 2002. Owens earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Texas-San Antonio in 2007.

Owens attended Irving High School and was district 7-5A Offensive player of the year. He earned All-Area and All-State honors while being ranked Top 40 in the state of Texas and a McDonald's All American nominee.

Owens began his college career at McLennan Community College in 2002. In his two years, the team advanced to the Regional semifinals both seasons, and he earned 1st team all-conference in his sophomore season.

After McLennan, Owens went to University Texas at San Antonio where he was a two-year starter. Owens averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds earning 2nd team all-conference and Strength and Conditioning All American. He went on to play professionally in Germany and Turkey and then played in the Continental Basketball Association.

With his background as a player, Owens understands the needs of players on the court.
