Jackson was named the seventh head baseball coach in WTC history on January 20, 2017.

In his first season at the helm, Jackson led the Westerners to a 33-23 record, a 17-win improvement from the 2016 campaign, and its second winning season in program history. WTC came within two wins of making the regional tournament, a feat last accomplished by the program back in 2012.

Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Jackson spent two seasons at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as the Volunteer Assistant Coach before his time here at WTC. His responsibilities included coaching 3^rd base, working with the hitters, outfielders, and also assisting with the infielders.

The Florida Marlins drafted Jackson in the 31st round during the 2011 MLB Draft. He spent one season playing in the Gulf Coast League for the Marlins before focusing on a coaching career.

During his collegiate career, Jackson spent his final two seasons at Texas A&M, playing in 124 games for the Aggies from 2010-11 and was just one of two players to play in each game in 2011. During his senior season, he started at shortstop in each of the Aggies’ 69 games that season — a season in which A&M reached the College World Series. That year, Jackson hit .278 with 36 runs and scored and 28 RBI.  He was a sure-handed shortstop as well, committing just ten errors on 319 chances and turning 35 double plays. During his junior year, he played in 55 games, while getting the start in 31 of them.

Prior to his time with the Aggies, Jackson played his first two college seasons at Alvin Community College where he was a two-year starter. In his sophomore year, he was named first-team all-conference shortstop while hitting six home runs and driving in 41 RBI with a .376 batting average. In 2008, he helped the Dolphins to the Region XIV conference title and a fifth-place finish at the JUCO World Series.

Jackson spent his high school career at Richard King High School. As a senior, he was a first-team all-district selection and was voted the team's most valuable player while also receiving the Mustangs' gold glove award.
